Veteran actor Atul Parchure took his last breath on Monday. October 14 at the age of 57. As per reports, the actor had been suffering from cancer for a long time. The Hindi and Marathi film industry has suffered a great loss due to his death. Atul Parchure's illustrious career saw him grace screens in popular shows such as The Kapil Sharma Show and in films alongside industry stalwarts like Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt in All the Best. While Partner actor was known for playing many roles, he gained fame from his comic characters in movies and TV shows in the Hindi and Marathi industry.
When did Atul Parchure start his career?
Atul Parchure was born in 1966 and began his acting journey in theatre while studying in college. He moved into Marathi films during the 1980s, starting his career with plays and participating in well-known productions such as Vasu Chi Sasu, Priyatama, and Tarun Turk Mhatare Arka.
After the theatre, Atul entered the film industry. He made his mark in Marathi cinema by portraying young Jagdeshwar (Ashok Saraf) in the film Khichdi (1985). This role helped him gain popularity, leading to his debut as Thambi in the Hindi film Bedardi (1993), where he became known for his bone-tickling performances.

His comic timing made him a staple for light movies
Later, he worked on cult comic films, including Hindi movies like Salaam-E-Ishq, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Partner, All the Best: Fun Begins, Khata Meetha, and Buddha Hoga Tera Baap.
His portrayal of Sukhi Paaji in Salaam-E-Ishq received recognition.
Atul made Bavesh Krishnakant a household name
Atul made his television debut in R.K. Laxman Ki Duniya, taking on the lead role of Bavesh Krishnakant Vasavada. This character represents a common man striving to give his family a comfortable life. However, he remains a quiet and passive observer of the world around him. His exceptional comic timing and simplicity turned him into a household name.
Later, he played Chitragupt in the comedy series Yum Hain Ham. He also appeared in several episodes of The Kapil Sharma Show as the father of Bhoori(Kapil's love interest) aka Sumona Chakravarti, receiving love for his performance.
In addition, he starred in Zee Marathi's popular show Jaago Mohan Pyare, alongside Supriya Pathare and Shruti Marathe. He took on the lead role in Bhago Mohan Pyare, the sequel to Jaago Mohan Pyare, also on Zee Marathi.

Making people laugh through his performances over the years, Atul was recognised with the prestigious Maharashtra State Award for Best Actor in Comedy.
Atul Pachure spread laughter in his last days
Following his reported cancer diagnosis, he made his final appearance in Pappu's Path, portraying a Genie.
His last role was in the Marathi film Alibaba Aani Chalishitale Chor in 2024, where he played a doctor.
