Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor married on January 22, 1980, ahead of their wedding anniversary, the invitation to their wedding reception surfaced on the internet. This invitation card has gone viral on the Internet. The invitation to the wedding reception reads as “Mr & Mrs. Raj Kapoor request the pleasure of your company on the auspicious occasion of the marriage reception of their son Rishi (Grandson of Late Mr. and Mrs. Prithviraj Kapoor) with Neetu (Daughter of Mrs. Rajee Singh) on Wednesday the 23 January 1980."
Wedding reception invitation card goes viral
The couple tied the knot in 1980 at RK Studios. They have two children--- Riddhima Kapoor Sahni ((born September 15, 1980) and Ranbir Kapoor (born September 28, 1982). Rishi and Neetu were married for 40 years, and Neetu accompanied him during his cancer treatment in New York. The late actor also complimented Neetu, saying she deserved a medal for her unwavering support through the ups and downs of his life.
Their wedding festivities lasted 20 days, and both Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor fainted before the ceremony. The couple starred in several movies together in the 1970s and 1980s, including Amar Akbar Anthony, Kabhi Kabhie, and Khel Khel Mein.
Interesting anecdotes from Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor
In an interview, Neetu Kapoor shared an interesting anecdote. She opened up about Rishi's extra-marital affairs. "I have caught him flirting hundreds of times. I always seem to be the first to hear about his affairs on outdoor locations. But I know they are just one-night stands.
Ultimately, Rishi Kapoor did marry Neetu - she was 21, and he, was 26. While the couple's marriage went through a rough patch, Neetu refused to give up on their relationship. In Ranbir Kapoor's words, "My mother is a rock. She is the one who has kept us all together." Neetu Kapoor left the film industry at the height of her career to marry Rishi.
In 2020, unfortunately Rishi Kapoor passed away after a two-year battle with cancer.
