Singham Again: Is Arjun Kapoor's Role In Ajay Devgn Starrer Inspired By Raavan From Ramayana?

Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Singham Again. The movie, helmed by Rohit Shetty, boasts of an ensemble cast, including Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone , Kareena Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. The makers have revealed the roles of all the stars except Arjun. The makers have hinted that he will be playing an antagonist role but what it is all about has been kept under wraps.

Arjun Kapoor's role is inspired by Raavan?

According to a report in Mid-day, Arjun will have a face-off with Ajay in Singham Again. Arjun's negative character has reportedly been modelled on Raavan (from the mythological story Ramayana). “Arjun plays a militant in the actioner. Ajay’s Singham, accompanied by his sena of cops, will be seen heading to Sri Lanka to lock horns with the villain," the source adds.

The Mid-day report further added that when Shetty was working on Singham Again, he wanted to give the movie-buffs new yet rooted in our culture.

A few days ago, Pinkvilla informed, that cop drama draws references from the mythological epic Ramayana. The movie is currently in the post-production stage.

What is the plot of Singham Again?

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Singham Again sets up the "future course of timeline for the cop universe as it opens up a lot of sub-plots for Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Lady Singham, and Satya too. With Ajay as Bajirao Singham, the third part of the Singham franchise can be equated as the first of the many Avengers films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

What else do we know about Singham Again?

Singham Again is the fifth instalment of Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe and a sequel to Singham Returns (2014). The movie also reprises the role of Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in the movie. The upcoming movie is all set to clash with Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on Diwali.
