The India Day Parade in New York City is a yearly celebration of India's independence, dating back nearly forty years. The event highlights India's rich diversity through cultural performances and involvement from the Indian community abroad. On August 19 this year, Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha , her husband Zaheer Iqbal, Pankaj Tripathi , and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari joined the festivities. Sonakshi Sinha served as the grand marshal, while Pankaj Tripathi and Manoj Tiwari were honoured guests.
The Federation of Indian Associations organises the parade, which this year featured over 40 floats, including a replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir . The parade attracted many from the Indian diaspora, who waved Indian flags. Traditional dhol drums set the rhythm as people danced in celebration. The event also included booths offering a variety of delicious Indian food.
