In a recent conversation with Instant Bollywood, Rohman Shawl rubbished the rumours of dating the actress by stating that they are "just friends". He said, "Vo toh 6 saal se hain na saath mein to abhi naya kya hai (we’ve been together for six years, so what is new in that?). He added that they have "always been friends," and there will be no change in their status. However, he did admit that they share "something special".

Rohman's statement comes days after Sushmita opened up about his relationship status and revealed that she has been single for three years.

The actress appeared on a chat show hosted by Rhea Chakraborty recently and admitted that she is not looking for love at the moment. She is enjoying her single status. "As we sit here today, I have no man in my life. I have been single for a while now. Three years, to be precise. I am not even interested in anyone at the moment," she said.

Talking about heartbreaks, the 48-year-old actress shared, “At my age it's not about heartbreaks any more. I invest in a relationship: love, care, energy. And because everyone is involved, I am hugely protected. If anything becomes toxic in that environment, I walk away faster than you can take my name and I don't miss it. My world is built around trust.”
