'The first person who praised my work in 'DDLJ' was my friend Salman Khan': Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan recently opened up about the strong bond he shares with his 'Karan Arjun' co-star Salman Khan. The actor recently revealed that Salman appreciated his work in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,' when everyone else criticized it.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan recently opened up about the strong bond he shares with his 'Karan Arjun' co-star Salman Khan. While attending an episode of the third season of Masterclass by Viu, the actor, in conversation with host Cyrus Sahukar revealed that it was Salman, of all people, who appreciated his work in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,' when everyone else criticized it.

"I still remember, this was at the premiere of 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. I had a couple of friends sitting beside me. There is a scene in the movie where I say 'Raj agar yeh tujko pyaar karti hai toh palat ke dekhegi . Palat. Palat. Palat.' And at that point, my friend tells me 'It looks like you'll kill her like you killed the girl in 'Baazigar'. If you weren't in this movie, it would do really well.' I felt very sad." ANI quoted him as saying. 

"The first person outside the production who saw the film and said it's a great one was my friend Salman Khan," he added.

SRK and Salman who were believed to be competitors were friends for the longest of time. Recently Salman marked a cameo in Shah Rukh's 'Zero' song 'Issaqbaazi' and the heartwarming bonding of the stars have won the hearts of the audience. Moreover, the two Khans often extends heartfelt messages to each other on social media. 

In fact, recently, a video of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan watching 'Karan Arjun' has surfaced on the internet. Salman Khan shared the video from one of his catching up sessions with Shah Rukh on social media and captioned it "Karan + Arjun... fond memories."

Meanwhile, Media reports state Shah Rukh also thanked all his woman co-stars, during the show. He revealed that although he is identified as the 'king of romance' he is actually really awkward doing it. He further gave credit to his female counterparts saying they made him really comfortable.

"Even today it's strange that everyone calls me a romantic hero because I'm really awkward doing it. I would like to thank all the heroines in this country who've done films with me because they made me really comfortable. Every time I'd do a scene, I'd say I cannot do this, what to do? And they said- Just do it, don't worry. I would say these things to Kajol, Madhuri, Juhi, everyone. And they've always supported and been kind to me." ANI quoted him as saying.
