A new film The Taj Story has been announced recently. The project, which claims to unfold the "real history" of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, situated in Agra, is directed by Tushar Amrish Goel and produced by CA Suresh Jha.
Poster of The Taj Story revealed
A concept poster of the upcoming film was also unveiled which showed the Taj Mahal, with a saffron flag on top of it. The reflection in water depicted not the mausoleum built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan but a Shiv linga. A splash of blood was depicted on the poster.
The movie seems to be hinting at exploring the much-debated Hindu origins of the Taj Mahal. Allegedly, the Taj Mahal was a Shiva temple or 'tejomahalay'. However, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had declared in an affidavit in 2018 that the Taj Mahal is the tomb of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal and not a Shiva temple.
Producer's take on The Taj Story
Announcing the film, producer CA Suresh Jha said, "I have read history. I know how it has been twisted and presented. Whenever I go to Agra and see the Taj Mahal and its reflection in the water, I see Lord Shiva. When I asked around from the locals, I learned that it was a Hindu palace. I thought of bringing the truth to light. I request you to support the matter and help us in bringing out the truth."
