Adarsh Gourav, whose latest film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is slated to have its OTT premiere on Netflix tomorrow, has been some sort of a child prodigy. The White Tiger made his acting debut with the 2010 film My Name Is Khan, and later appeared in many TV commercials before making a full-fledged acting debut with the 2017 film Rukh. However, Gourav was also a trained singer, and first aspired for a singing career before eventually veering towards acting.

When Gourav participating in a singing talent show at the age of 10

During a conversation with Mashable India, the actor recalled participating in singing reality show like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa twice - once in adult level, and once in level. However, strangely enough, Adarsh Gourav first competed in the adults section when he was barely 10 years old. This story dates back to 2006 when Adarsh hadn't moved to Bombay, and lived in Jamshedpur with his family.

Gaurav recalled, “I was standing in the line when they saw me, and told me that I am too young to participate in adult category. I had a flair for drama right since childhood, so I created quite a ruckus when they didn’t let me in. So I began crying, and howling, “they are not giving me a chance.” And looking at me, all the camera crew people surrounded me, because this is the stuff they needed. After a while, they didn’t have any option but to let me in. They also didn't want to look as the bad person in this scenario."

Adarsh Gourav has been part of a progressive-rock band

Gourav further recalled that when he finally went in to perform for the judges, they appreciated his performance but gently told me that he is too young right now, and that he should try again after 8-10 years. 4 years later, Gourav recalls giving it another shot as he participated in the show Little Champs. However, Gourav blames his eventual defeat to his impulsive decision of changing the song for final performance at the nth minute.
