When Mahima Chaudhry Begged Ajay Devgn To Keep Her Accident Secret For THIS Reason

Mahima Chaudhry recently revealed the harrowing details of a near-fatal accident that posed a severe threat to her career and left her labelled as 'scarface.' The incident occurred in 1999 while she was filming the movie Dil Kya Kare in Bangalore. She opened up about her life post-accident.

Mahima Chaudhry: 67 glass pieces taken out

In an interview with Radio Nasha, Mahima Chaudhry recalled the harrowing day in 1999 when a vehicle crashed into car, resulting in severe injuries to her face. “I had 67 glass pieces taken out of my face,” she said, remembering the shock she felt when she saw herself in the mirror.

Mahima Chaudhry reveals details about horrific accident

On the last day of the shoot in Bangalore, Mahima Chaudhry's life took a traumatic turn. Her car collided with a milk truck coming from the wrong direction. The crash shattered the car's windows, leading glass shards pierce Mahima's face.

“At first, I told Prakash ji [Prakash Jha] that if nothing has happened, let’s shoot. But when I looked in the mirror, I realised my face was injured,” she said. Mahima revealed that her co-star and producer Ajay Devgn , along with director Prakash Jha, were incredibly supportive. “I requested Ajay and Prakash ji to not tell anyone about my accident. I wanted to see if I could salvage my career. They respected my wishes, and no one from the production said a word,” Mahima recalled, praising their discretion and loyalty.

Mahima further said, “Ajay used to say that after surgeries, everything would be fine, but I didn’t believe it”. Even today, one of my eyes is smaller than the other,” she confessed”, adding that the trauma left her hesitant to face the camera directly.

When Mahima Chaudhry was labelled as ‘scarface’

Mahima emotionally recounted how she was labelled 'scarface' by the media after the accident. She shared how a magazine featured a distant shot of her with visible scars, accompanied by an insensitive headline.

She shared her pain, stating, "It still hurts me." She further added that Ajay Devgn stepped in to offer support and comfort to her during this challenging time. She said that he played a pivotal role in helping her regain confidence. Mahima shared, "Ajay was like I get scars like this all the time. He was a very generous producer. He took care of me."
