Bachchan Family News: An old interview of Amitabh Bachchan has now resurfaced online amid reports of the family feuding. As per reports, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, who tied the knot in 2007, are facing turbulence in their marriage which has caused a rift in the family. However, none of the family members from the Bachchan clan have confirmed the reports. Amid this, an old interview of the veteran actor has now resurfaced online.

When Amitabh Bachchan spoke about distributing his wealth equally

In a 2011 interview, Amitabh Bachchan asserted that he would distribute his properties equally among his two children - Abishek and Shweta Bachchan. Consequently, Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai will have an equal right on his property. For the unversed, most recently, the veteran actor was named the fourth richest Bollywood entity by Hurun India Rich List 2024. The 81-year-old actor has a reported net worth of around ₹1,600 crores.

Speaking to Rediff the actor shared, “I had decided on one thing: that I would not differentiate between them. When I die, whatever little I have will be equally divided between my daughter and my son — there is no differentiation. Jaya and I decided on that long time back. Everybody says that the girl is paraya dhan, she goes to her husband’s house, but in my eyes she is our daughter, she has the same rights Abhishek has.” Consequently, the actor has reportedly gifted his daughter Shweta their bungalow Jalsa, which was at the time, reported to be worth of ₹50 crore.
