Brothers Suriya, Karthi to come together for 1st time? Ponniyin Selvan actor drops hint

Tamil stars Karthi and Suriya are brothers in real life. They are also part of the same cinematic franchise. While Karthi starred in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Lokesh Cinematic Universe’ debut film Kaithi in 2019, Suriya appeared at the end of the second LCU film Vikram as Rolex. Now, Karthi has spoken in a recent interview about whether there’s a film on the cards for them together or not.

Karthi-Suriya to do a film together?

Speaking to Variety, Karthi touched upon several topics. Apart from discussing the legacy of his father, actor Sivakumar and his upcoming film Japan, Karthi spoke about a potential collaboration between him and his brother Suriya. He told the outlet that fans have been excited to see them together. While he said that their father does not want to appear in front of the camera, he wants the brothers to team up.

Karthi said, “Very rarely are brothers in the same industry. And we really want to do one good film together for sure. Earlier, I was scared. Now we both are certain, we have to do one.” It is not yet clear whether he was speaking about a collaboration with Suriya on an entirely unrelated project. Nevertheless, a collaboration between them seems to be on the cards.

Karthi gives Kaithi 2 update

Karthi also spoke about Kaithi 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj. He confirmed that the sequel is in the works. He said, “We’ve already planned for it.” He further said that a timeline of the sequel is also being worked upon.
