Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant Wedding Festivities Kick Off With Traditional Gujarati Ceremony

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s marital union is being quoted as the wedding of the year. The grand festivities of the couple have kick-started with a lavish pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar and Italy. Ahead of the big day on July 12, the families of the bride and groom-to-be have come together to kick off the wedding festivities.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will tie the knot between July 12-14 in Mumbai. The couple’s wedding festivities have been kickstarted today, July 3. Several photos and videos from Anant Ambani's residence, Antilla are now doing rounds on social media. Antilla can be seen lit up and adorned with decorations ahead of the wedding. 

Several videos show family members of both, the bride and groom arriving at the Ambani’s residence. The families have gathered for the couple’s ‘mameru’ ceremony. Also known as Mosaalu, the ‘Mameru’ ceremony is a traditional Gujarati practice that takes prior to the wedding day. In this ceremony, the maternal uncle of the bride visits her and gives sweets and gifts like sarees, jewellery and other clothes. Bride-to-be Radhika Merchant arrived for the ceremony fully dressed in a pink bandhani lehenga teamed with matching accessories. 

All about Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s 3-day wedding festivities 

The grand wedding festivities are meticulously planned, adhering to traditional Hindu Vedic customs. The main ceremonies will commence on Friday, July 12, with the auspicious Shubh Vivah, or wedding function and according to sources, guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by dressing in traditional Indian attire. The celebrations will continue on Saturday, July 13, with Shubh Aashirwad. The final event, Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14.

For this grand occasion, guests have been asked to dress in 'Indian chic.' Radhika Merchant, daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant, is set to join the Ambani family, marking a union of two prominent industrialist families.
