Anupam Kher graced the Literature festival Abhivyakti-3, organised by the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) in Pune. The event was inaugurated by AWWA president Archana Pande and provided a platform for Anupam Kher to reflect on his recent role in Kashmir Files and share his thoughts.
Speaking about his character in Kashmir Files, Anupam Kher described it as a profoundly soulful experience. He said, "My role in Kashmir Files was soulful as I did not have to depend on the acting. I did not have to fake my emotions." He emphasised that this role didn't demand traditional acting, as it was about bringing genuine emotions to the forefront. Anupam Kher mentioned how some roles transcend the need for craft and instead require the pure expression of heartfelt emotions.

Anupam Kher clarifies on not receiving a National Award
Anupam Kher also touched on the topic of National Awards, acknowledging that he didn't receive one for his performance in Kashmir Files. However, he clarified that this statement wasn't meant to diminish the achievements of others who were honoured with the awards. He expressed his genuine appreciation for fellow actor Allu Arjun, who received a National Award for his role in Pushpa, and even publicly applauded his performance.

He said, "When I said about National Awards, which I did not get for Kashmir Files, I did mean it as it was a great performance. That did not mean that people who got it did not deserve it. Of course, everyone who got the award fully deserved it. I applauded Allu Arjun, (who got the national award for best actor) when I saw Pushpa in the theatre. I had tweeted about it."
What's next for Anupam Kher?
Anupam Kher has successfully completed shooting for the film Calorie in Amritsar, Punjab. Directed by Canadian filmmaker Eisha Marjara, Calorie is yet another exciting project. Meanwhile, he was recently seen in the film Tiger Nageswara Rao starring Ravi Teja and Nupur Sanon.
