Revisiting Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli's dreamy wedding

Borgo Finocchieto, an 800-year-old village-turned-villa, played host to Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's intimate celebration. Lavender, soft pink, and powder blue were the defining colours that adorned the nuptials.

Anushka donned an embroidered soft pink lehenga designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her ensemble took 67 karigars, 32 days to hand embroider the lehenga in silk floss, which bore motifs of exotic birds and butterflies. She accessorised her look with traditional jewellery—a mathapatti, layered necklaces and jhumkas in jadau, pearls and pink spinel. Fresh hydrangeas adorned her hair. The pastel theme extended beyond the attire, with pastel flowers stealing the spotlight at the ceremony.

Kohli, on the other hand, wore an ivory sherwani styled with a lightly embroidered tussar stole and a pale pink chanderi safa that matched the actress' lehenga.

The wedding mandap showcased a deconstructed aesthetic, deviating from elaborate decorations. A canopy of flowers imported from Holland was coupled with textiles around the four posts. Unlike traditional mandaps, this one skipped garlands and elaborate flowerbeds. Instead, white candles in glass lanterns hung from the ceiling, casting a romantic glow over the proceedings.
