Daniel Durant, best known for his role in CODA, is now engaged. The actor engaged rings with his longtime girlfriend and professional dance partner, Britt Stewart. The couple, who met on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars (DWTS), shared the details of their Christmas Day proposal in Lake Arrowhead, California, with PEOPLE.

Daniel Durant's proposal to Britt Stewart unfolded atop a mountain during a family hike, surrounded by loved ones from both sides. The actor expressed gratitude for the balance Stewart brings to his life, acknowledging that she understands his culture, language, and every aspect of him. In the photos, the actor opted for a checkered jacket teamed with denim jeans. Britt, on the other hand, sported a white hoodie paired with a pair of denim jeans. In the photos, the actress was seen flaunting her diamond ring.

The couple shared that their romantic journey commenced after their DWTS competition had concluded. Durant, known for his competitiveness, focused on winning the competition initially, "delaying the realisation" of their deeper connection until they were eliminated in the semifinals.

Stewart shared that she learnt American Sign Language (ASL) as soon as she discovered Durant would be her partner which became a pivotal factor in their connection. Their connection deepened during a jazz routine performed to Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence."The dance, featuring a portion performed without music, offered audiences a glimpse into Durant's experiences as a deaf artist and marked an important moment when their lives intertwined.

Durant admitted that after he got eliminated from the competition, he couldn't envision life without Stewart. The couple officially confirmed their relationship on Valentine's Day 2023.
