India's Got Latent Winner Jokes About Deepika's 'Break Up Wala Depression' On Samay Raina's Show
A comedian on India's Got Latent said that Deepika Padukone doesn't know what "real depression" is as she spoke about her motherhood and post-partum.

India's Got Latent: Samay Raina's "talent" hunt show that is available for viewing on YouTube has been trending ever since its release. In the latest episode, the panel of judges included Raghu Ram of Roadies fame and comedian Tanmay Bhat, among others. One of the contestants, who ended up winning the prize money, joked about Deepika Padukone's depression while she compared it to her post-partum. The joke did not land well with many as the snippets from the episode quickly went viral on social media.
When Deepika opened up about her depression battle
The actress, who came out in 2015 as having battled depression, runs the Live Love Laugh Foundation, which aims to help those struggling with their mental health. The Kalki 2898 AD star shared that she overcame it with the help of medical professionals and support from her family. Deepika said that she even "felt suicidal at times," but medications helped her get better.
Many theories have been afloat about which incident pushed her towards a mental breakdown and some believe that it was a breakup that led her to his health battle. In the latest episode of India's Got Latent, Banti Banerjee, a stand-up comedian, joked that Deepika does know what "real depression" is.
Comedian questions Deepika's ‘break-up wala depression’
Talking about her own experience of embracing motherhood and post-partum depression, Banti said, "Deepika Padukone also became a mother recently. Now she knows what depression really looks like." This elicited laughter from the audience. "I am not trying to insult break up wala depression. Actually, I am. What is break up wala depression? Actually, depression happens when your sleep breaks and your kid wakes in the middle of the night. Jiska jiska break up wala depression hota hai they should go through post-partum. Sab bhool jayenge," Banti added.

She ended up winning the show and the prize money, but many on social media were divided over her joke about Deepika's battle with depression. The latest episode of India's Got Latent has got over 7 million views in 24 hours.
