Jani Master, Stree 2 And Rowdy Baby Choreographer, Booked On Rape Charges

Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha who is most popularly known as Jani Master has landed in legal trouble. As per media reports, the choreographer has been booked in a sexual assault case. For the unversed, Jani is a popular name in the film industry and has collaborated with the likes of Shahid Kapoor, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Sara Ali Khan and several other industry bigwigs.

Choreographer Jani Master accused of sexual assault 

As per a reports, a woman who is also a choreographer has alleged that Jani Master has assaulted her multiple times. The victim is 21-years-old and a native of Narsingi, Telangana. Based on her complaints, the police have filed a Zero FIR.

A senior police official told the publication, “The complainant said that Jani had sexually assaulted her multiple times during their shoots in different cities, including Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad. She also claimed that he assaulted her at her residence in Narsingi several times... since the woman is a resident of Narsingi, the case has been transferred to the police there and further investigation will be taken up." A further investigation is underway.

Investigation underway in the case against Jani Master 

As per the publication, a case under clause (2) and (n) of section 376 (rape), criminal intimidation (506) and voluntarily causing hurt (323) of the IPC. The DG of Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, Shikha Goel further shared, “I advised them to launch an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and since the allegations also attract criminal charges, they were also told to register a case with the law and order police… the case shall be investigated further as per protocol."

This is not the first instance of a harassment complaint filed against Jani Master. In June this year, Satish, a dancer had complained that the choreographer harassed him and obstructed new work coming his way. However, Jani Master had refuted the claims in a press conference.
