Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK Booked Under SC/ST Act For 'Objectionable' Comments On BSP Chief Mayawati
The FIR was lodged at Deoband police station in Saharanpur by the BSP district unit chief. He has been charged under IPC sections 500, 509, and the SC/ST Act.
Actor, critic and film producer Kamaal Rashid Khan alias KRK has been booked by the UP Police for allegedly making derogatory remarks on Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The FIR against KRK was lodged at Deoband police station in Saharanpur by the BSP district unit chief Sushil Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain said.
KRK booked for making ‘objectionable’ comments on Mayawati
According to the police, KRK has been charged under IPC sections 500, 509, and the SC/ST Act. The actor, who is often in news for is controversial remarks against fellow film industry workers, hails from the Fulas Akbarpur area in Saharanpur district. According to SP Sagar Jain, KRK made the "objectionable" remarks against Mayawati in a post on X.
KRK's brother Majid Ali, who unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha elections from Saharanpur on a BSP ticket, said he had "nothing to do" with him over the past 15 years.
KRK calls Mayawati a corrupt politician
While it is not certain which post shared by KRK led to an official compliant against him, in a post dated June 12, he had called Mayawati a “corrupt” politician.
“Mayawati @Mayawati was riding a bicycle in 90s and today she is having wealth of ₹10,000Cr+! I simply can’t understand, why do people support such a corrupt politician. Even I don’t understand, why @dir_ed doesn’t arrest her (sic),” he wrote on X.
Earlier, KRK had faced defamation cases for his alleged derogatory remarks on Ajay Devgn, Vikram Bhatt and Manoj Bajpayee. In one of his controversial posts, he went on to talk about Virat Kohli's depression and blamed his wife Anushka Sharma for it.
