Not ₹60 Crore, Dhanashree Verma To Get This Amount As Alimony From Yuzvendra Chahal After 1.6 Years Of Failed Marriage

Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife Dhanashree Verma have been in the news, owing to their rumoured divorce procedures. A few weeks ago, it was reported that the couple visited the court to complete their divorce procedures. In the latest development, Bombay High Court has allowed to waive a 6-month cooling period post-divorce. Following this, the divorce settlement details have been revealed that Chahal will pay ₹4.75 crore to Dhanashree.

Dhanashree Verma's alimony claims: Here's the truth

The Bombay High Court sought the cooling period of six months, which is mentioned under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, be waived off. Given that the latest edition of Indian Premier League ( IPL ) is starting March 22, which would keep Yuzvendra Chahal engaged, the HC directed that the decision on his divorce with Dhanashree be taken tomorrow (March 20).

The alimony has been a contested issue on social media. Earlier this year, reports claimed that Chahal is paying Dhanashree, a social media influencer, dance professional and actress, ₹60 crore as alimony, a claim denied strongly by her parents. “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered,” the relative of Dhanashree said in a statement released in the media. Now, alimony claims on behalf of Dhanashree stand correct, however, its nearly ₹5 crore, according to latest reports, and not ₹60 crore as claimed earlier.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma separated in 1.6 years

According to Bar and Bench, the couple that got married in December 2020 has been living apart since June 2022. In February this year, they decided to file a divorce plea before the Bandra Family Court. The couple also filed an application along with the petition to waive the cooling period. 

Meanwhile, rumours continue to float about Chahal moving on with RJ Mahvash after his divorce. The rumoured couple were snapped in the stands during the India Vs New Zealand Champions Trophy 2025 final in Dubai.
