Siddhant Chaturvedi addresses his viral ‘nepotism’ remark on Ananya Panday
Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday addressed the viral nepotism comment made by the former in 2019 ahead of the release of their film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
Siddhant Chaturvedi is all set to share screen space with Ananya Panday in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The film will mark their second collaboration after the 2022 film Gehraiyaan. In a new interview, the actors addressed how their viral conversation from the past served as an ice-breaker for their friendship.
Ananya Panday says nothing affected friendship with Siddhant Chaturvedi
In an interview in 2019, Siddhant Chaturvedi seemingly took a jibe at Ananya Panday by commenting that her struggles in life have been very difficult than people like himself who do not hail from the industry. The comment went viral on social media by fans hailing the actor for calling out nepotism. However, following the comment, the actors shared screen space in the 2019 film Gehraiyaan which also starred Deepika Padukone.
In a new interview both Siddhant and Ananya shared how the comment served as an ice-breaker for them. In an interview with Film Companion, Ananya called the comment a ‘glacier’ in their friendship. Siddhant also shared that the comment never affected their friendship.
What did Ananya Panday about Siddhant Chaturvedi
In an interview with Film Companion, Ananya Panday said, “With Sid, I can just call him and tell him what I feel. If I felt that something was not okay, whether personally and professionally, or he felt something was not fine, we have always told each other and that’s the way we have kept it. It’s a good way to be with anyone.”
Adding to this Siddhant also shared, “It never affected actually our friendship, because we did Gehraiyaan right after that. We did Kho Gaye, and those who have seen the trailer...achcha actor hoon, but itna bhi nahi ki fake karu (I am not that great an actor that I can fake the friendship).”
