Sydney Sweeney reveals she considered breast reduction surgery during high school

Anyone But You actor Sydney Sweeney recently opened up about when she considered breast reduction as a teenager, something she decided against.

The actress has been on a press tour for the same, also marking her presence at the film's premieres. Amid her career strides, the actress recently opened up about a personal dilemma she faced as a teenager - that of going under the knife.

Sydney Sweeney reveals she had considered going in for breast reduction


In a conversation with Glamour UK, Sydney Sweeney opened up about how her bosom used to make her rather conscious during her school going years, so much so that she had her mind set on getting a breast reduction surgery as soon as she turned 18. The Euphoria actress further revealed how her mother convinced her against it. The actress also referred to her bosom as her "best friends".

The Anyone But You star said, "When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller...And my mom told me, ‘Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.’ And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends."

Sydney Sweeney on body positivity


Sweeney expressed gratitude to her mother for having convinced her against going in for a breast reduction. The actress further revealed how having habitually covered her body during her growing up years, it was tapping into the confidence in her which empowered her and changed her perspective about her appearance.

She said, "I went through that process of covering my body up at such a young age, but once I became more confident with myself. I want to show girls that it’s amazing and beautiful and empowering to have the bodies that we have...Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people."
