Tirupati Laddu Row: Karthi Apologises To Pawan Kalyan After Laughing At A Joke On The Matter

Tirupati Laddu Row: Actor Karthi took to his social media account to issue a public apology to actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. This comes after Karthi's appearance at an event did not go well with the deputy chief minister who reprimanded him for referring to the issue in a joking matter. The apology is now going viral.

What did Karthi say in Tirupati Laddu Row? 

On September 23, Karthi attended an event in Hyderabad where an anchor showed him a few memes. One of the photos was in relation to the Tirupati Laddu row. The controversy revolves around animal fat being used as an ingredient in the laddus at Tirupati’s Sri Venkateswara Temple. When asked for his reaction to the same, the Awara actor laughed it off by saying, "Ippudu laddu gurinchi maatladakodadu (we should not talk about laddu now), it's a sensitive topic manakoddadi (we don’t want)."

This did not go well with Pawan Kalyan. In a media event on September 24, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh told the media, “Don’t you dare say it is a sensitive issue or make jokes about the Tirupati Laddu." He specially mentioned Karthi and continued, "I respect you as an actor, I urge everyone from the film fraternity to either support this fight or stay silent. I would request everyone to refrain from making unnecessary remarks.”

Karthi apologises to Pawan Kalyan 

On September 24, Karthi took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share an apology to Pawan Kalyan. He mentioned in his note that he always holds ‘traditions’ dear to him. He shared, "Dear @PawanKalyan sir, with deep respects to you, I apologize for any unintended misunderstanding caused. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I always hold our traditions dear. Best regards."

Fans of the PS 1 actor have been hailing him for accepting his mistakes and apologising sincerely. Pawan Kalyan is yet to react to the apology.
