When Anushka Sharma Helped 'Dejected' KL Rahul Post Failed Test Cricket Debut

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have always made sure to be a strong support for their near and dear ones. The couple has been together in every cricket match and never miss the chance to exhibit pure couple goals. The same was revealed by Indian cricketer KL Rahul.

How did Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli help KL Rahul?

In a talk show, Open House with Renil, KL Rahul recalled the time when he made his test cricket debut in 2014 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. But due to his underperformance at the test debut, he felt dejected.

He revealed to the interviewer how Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli supported him at the time. He said, “Both of them has been very good to me and I have a great story to tell you. She could see that I was down and dejected while my thoughts were all over."

KL Rahul further said that, “I third wheeled on one of the dinner dates. Both Virat and Anushka shared their stories describing moments when they had endured failure in careers. That made me feel like I wasn’t the only one who ruined his first impression."

KL Rahul thanked the couple for helping him out  of the tough phase as he mentioned, “It was nice of Anushka to do it as I didn’t know how she could understand what I was going through. We still stay in touch and exchange a few messages, although Anushka’s are about my dog mostly."

For the unversed, this was the same time when, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli weren’t officially a couple. They tied the knot on December 11, 2017 and are now parents to a daughter named Vamika and a son named Akaay.

While, KL Rahul married Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty in January 2023 at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala.

What’s next for Anushka Sharma?

Anushka Sharma will next be seen Chakda Xpress, which is yet to set a release date. Written by Abhishek Banerjee and directed by Prosit Roy, the film is a biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami's life.

The film will mark her acting return after her last film Zero in 2018, which turned out to be a box office debacle.
