Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's upcoming movie Chhaava teaser was released on August 19. In this historical drama, Vicky portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who was the courageous son of the renowned Maratha warrior-king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film is set to hit the theatres on December 6, and is expected to be one of the year's biggest releases. As promotions began, Vicky is winning praise for a recent statement where he boldly draws parallels between India's real-life heroes and the Avengers.
India has real-life heroes, says Vicky Kaushal
At a recent promotional event of Chhaava, Vicky expressed his views on the need for Western cultures to create superhero characters akin to the Avengers, noting their lack of real-life heroes. He proudly pointed out that India's history is rich with true superheroes, such as Sambhaji and Chhatrapati Shivaji, who overshadow any fictional characters. Vicky highlighted the importance of celebrating these historical figures by creating iconic movies.
He said, "I always say that in the West, they need to create Avengers-like characters because they don't have real-life superheroes. But we have real superheroes in our own history. If you look at India's past, you'll find superheroes like Sambhaji and Chhatrapati Shivaji, who will make all other superheroes pale in comparison. And it's very important for us to showcase such stories and celebrate them with the people."
Who is playing what in Chhaava?

The film is set to hit theatres on December 6. However, it will face stiff competition at the box office, clashing with the highly anticipated Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. This marks Vicky's second major box office clash, following Sam Bahadur which competed with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.
