Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's case

During the 2022 defamation trial, Heard claimed that Warner Bros, the production company behind Aquaman, were initially hesitant to include her in the sequel. She also said that many of her scenes and action sequences were removed from Aquaman 2. However, director James Wan countered these claims and said that Heard's reduced screen time was intentional.

Unlike the first film, which focused on the love story between Mera and Arthur (Jason Momoa), Aquaman 2 took a different approach and focused on the bromance between Arthur and Orm (Patrick Wilson). Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom released on December 22, 2023 is enjoying success in theatres and Amber's return to the film has been well-received by fans.
