This New Year, Aquaman 2 is going to make a big impression on Netflix. Collider reported that the movie will be accessible for online viewing on January 1, 2024. This comes after several DC superhero films from 2023, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle, were recently added to the streaming behemoth.

The decision to choose a new streaming service aligns with the difficulties The Lost Kingdom encountered when it made its theatrical premiere. The movie disappointed financially in addition to missing box office estimates, taking in about $38 million during the long Christmas holiday weekend. With marketing expenses excluded, the film's enormous $200 million budget was unveiled. It's yet unknown if it will be able to recoup expenses.

Apart from Jason, Aquaman 2 also stars Amber Heard, who only appears on camera for about 20 minutes or so, and while she does talk in the film, it is just a measly 11 lines apparently. According to the portal, Heard shows up for a few action sequences toward the beginning and the end, but she's largely removed from the main story. Even though she and Momoa's on-screen baby serves as a central plot point.
