Oscar Winning Actor Anne Hathaway Expecting Third Child With Husband Adam Shulman, Announces Pregnancy On Instagram

OOscar-winning actor Anne Hathaway has delighted fans by announcing she is expecting her third child. The 43-year-old Hollywood star took to Instagram with an endearing clip that showed her turning to the camera to reveal a growing baby bump before skipping away with a giggle. She captioned the post “x Baby, I’m yours x” and set it to Barbara Lewis’s 1965 track “Baby I’m Yours”, letting the song carry the message.

A representative for Hathaway kept the response brief when approached for further comment, keeping with the tone of the post. “I think the video is pretty obvious,” the spokesman said, confirming what viewers had already surmised from the clip. 

As soon as the video appeared online, the reaction was instant, as messages of congratulations flooded in from friends, fellow actors and fashion figures. Supermodel Gigi Hadid wrote “YESSSS MOMMMYYYYY”, while designer Donatella Versace commented “GLOWING!! Congratulations my gorgeous, gorgeous Anne. Sending you all the love in the world.”

Actor Lily J Collins also joined in, posting “Oh my!!! congratulations to you all!!! Soooooo happy.” The outpouring reflected the affection Hathaway commands across Hollywood and beyond.

Hathaway and her husband, actor-producer Adam Shulman, are already parents to two boys, Jonathan and Jack. The couple married in 2012 and have largely kept their family life private, though Hathaway has occasionally opened up about motherhood. She was recently photographed with a visible bump while on holiday, hinting at the news before the official announcement.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, she reflected on her current phase of life, saying, “For the moment, we’re all just in it. Adam and I are soaking it up. I’m having the most wonderful time with my family, living in the city of my dreams, and work seems to be going really, really well. So rather obnoxiously, I’m having a great time as everything else burns.”

Busy Year On Screen

The pregnancy announcement was made amid one of Hathaway’s busiest professional years, as she has already appeared earlier this year in the music drama ‘Mother Mary’ and returned as Andy Sachs in the long-awaited ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel alongside Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt.

Her upcoming projects include Christopher Nolan’s epic ‘The Odyssey’, slated for July 17, and Michael Showalter’s adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s thriller ‘Verity’, due on October 2. She is also attached to the sci-fi feature ‘The End of Oak Street’ opposite Ewan McGregor, which is in development.
