Emmy nominee Giancarlo Esposito, who is popular for his roles in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Boys, will appear in Captain America: Brave New World, which is slated to release next year. Esposito announced his casting in a Marvel project during a panel in Brazil earlier this month. There, he squashed fan speculation that he would play Professor X in the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of 'X-Men. Turns out, he will feature in the new Captain America movie, in which Anthony Mackie plays the title role.

Giancarlo Esposito bags a mystery role in Marvel movie

Giancarlo Esposito’s role in Captain America: Brave New World is being kept under wraps, however, it is being reportedly described as villainous character. Some additional shooting days have been added to the schedule so that the mystery character can enter the film universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the shoot will run 22 days. Among the added elements will be some new action sequences.

Previously, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels have undergone extensive reshoots.

What do we know about Captain America: Brave New World?

Anthony Mackie returns as Sam Wilson, now the newly minted Captain America. Directed by Julius Onah, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Harrison Ford, Tim Blake Nelson, Sebastian Stan and Rosa Salazar. It was originally slated for a July 26, 2024 release, but was pushed back to Valentine’s Day 2025 in a round of rescheduling after the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
