Dua Lipa goes blonde for her next film Argylle, shares pictures from look test

Dua Lipa will be marking her second outing to the cinemas with her role in Matthew Vaughn's Argylle, slated for a theatrical release in early February.

Dua Lipa only recently marked her acting debut with 2023 blockbuster Barbie. The Greta Gerwig directorial saw Dua in the role of Mermaid Barbie. Though brief, her role in the film was well received by the audience. The Houdini singer, who recently spent the holidays and New Years in India, has now resumed work, sharing glimpses of her radically different look from the sets of her next acting project.

Dua Lipa turns blonde for Argylle


For the unversed, Dua Lipa will next feature in film Argylle. She took to her Instagram handle to share glimpses of her look test for the film. Dua, who has almost always sported dark hair across the hues of black, browns and reds was seen in a radically different avatar. The actress will be seen in the film with blonde hair. The pictures from the look test show Dua in a blunt cut look with side-parted bangs. The platinum blonde hue of her hair was off set with dark roots and a heavy, glittery makeup.

For the unversed, Argylle is spy action comedy film. Besides Dua, the film features an ensemble cast comprising of Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Haruka Oshima and Arian DeBose. Argylle will release in theatres on February 2.

When Argylle director Matthew Vaughn's statement landed him in legal trouble


Earlier last year, Argylle director Matthew Vaughn was at the receiving end of legal scrutiny. This was sparked by a statement made by the director while discussing his film which saw him claim he had a "twisted mind".

As per a USA Today report, failure to present a medical certificate corroborating these claims might result in a maximum penalty of a five-year long imprisonment or a $250,000 fine.
