Former 'Tarzan' actor Ron Ely's wife Lundeen killed by son: Police

Former Tarzan actor's wife Valerie Lundeen Ely was found dead on October 15. Police in a statement said that she was stabbed multiple times to death by son.

Former Tarzan actor Ron Ely 's wife Valerie Lundeen was found dead on October 15. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, the 62-year-old was stabbed multiple times to death by her son Cameron Ely. In a statement by the officers, the deputies showed up at the couple's house in the upscale neighborhood of Hope Ranch following an emergency call about a family dispute. The 30-year-old was shot and killed by the deputies outside their home after he threatened the police.

However, actor Ron Ely was not injured during the attack but a disabled elderly man in the home was taken to a hospital for a check-up. The incident reportedly began with a 911 call about a family dispute at the actor's home in California. According to the Sheriff's office, the deputies arrived at the incident location at 8:15. They further added that none of the deputies were injured but those involved in the shooting will be placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. In a statement, the police claimed that death is seen as a homicide although an autopsy is being conducted for both, the victim and the suspect.

The Ely family

The American actor is best known for his role in the Tarzan TV show that aired on NBC from 1966-68. he has also played the lead role in the 1975 film Doc Savage: The man of Bronze. Ely was a host of the Miss America pageant in 1980 and 1981 and later married Lundeen who was a former Miss Florida USA. The couple had three children, Kirsten, Kaitland, and Cameron. Their 30-year-old son Cameron had reportedly attended Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and went on to Harvard University in 2007 where he played quarterback for the football team. According to the reports he was also a licensed security guard for the past two years. The home where he killed his mother is one of the two addresses listed in public records under his name, however, it is not clear if he had been living with his parents.
