Jennifer Lopez Makes FIRST Appearance At TIFF After Divorce From Ben Affleck

Hollywood news: In less than two years of their marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck called it quits. Just two weeks after the Aint Your Mama singer proudly stepped out to attend the Toronto International Film Festival.

Jennifer Lopez turned heads at the festival in a mirrorball dress with black bows tying the sides. She completed her look with a sleek straight hairstyle and accessorised it with a matching metallic Judith Leiber clutch and Dolce & Gabbana heels. She was at the film festival for the world premiere of her film Unstoppable, a biographical sports drama based on the 2012 book of the same name by Anthony Robles and Austin Murphy.

While Ben Affleck produced the movie along with his BFF Matt Damon, his decision to skip this premiere has made it clear that the couple wants to avoid any award situation during their divorce proceedings.

According to reports, Unstoppable director William Goldenberg shut down any potential awkwardness between JLo and Ben surrounding the promotion of the film.

He said in an interview, “Everybody’s a professional and that’s their own personal thing’. He also added, “I love them both. I know Ben better, but Jennifer was literally a dream to work with”.

When and why did JLo and Ben separate?

Jennifer and Ben first met in 2002 on the set of their film, Gigli. The former couple were engaged in 2003 only to call it off just three days before the wedding. The former couple rekindled their romance in 2021. Their whirlwind courtship period saw the duo tie the knot in July of 2022. 

As per reports, the real reason behind their divorce is the former couple drifted apart when Ben, who has a history of alcohol issues, objected to JLo’s new cocktail line. Since Ben is struggling to deal with sobriety and found it humiliating to know this.
