Joker Folie à Deux X Review: One of the most anticipated movies of the year is scheduled to release globally on October 4, but hit the big screens in India on October 2. While the film has been premiered at various film festivals in the rest of the world, it has gotten an early release in India. Fans of the franchise who caught the early shows of the movie took to their social media accounts to share their review.

The Joker Folie à Deux reviews on social media seem to be on the extremes. Some are raving about the film, deeming it the best, while others have expressed their disappointment about the film not matching up to its 2019 prequel. The series in Joker 2 follows the story of what unfolds two years after the first Joker movie. While Joaquin Phoenix reprises his titular role in the film, Lady Gaga has joined the cast of the new movie and plays the role of Harley Quinn, closely based on the DC character.

A user took objection to Lady Gaga's casting in the film and wrote, “No one asked for Lady Gaga to play Harely Quinne by not playing Harely Quinne and turn it into a musical.” Another point out that the film does not match its predecessor. The netizen shared, “JOKER: FOLIE Á DEUX disappoints, especially when comparing to the brilliant #Joker. Despite strong performances, the film is marred by repetitive musical sequences and convoluted themes surrounding Arthur’s Joker identity."

However, on the other hand, some users praised the acting of Lady Gaga and the storyline of part 2. A user wrote, “#JokerFolieàDeux is honestly not that bad. Lady Gaga is PHENOMENAL as Harley. Joaquin Phoenix is as great as Arthur. The chemistry between them were amazing. This movie has fantastic visuals. The score is amazing and the music is great. 8/10” Another wrote, “Joker: Folie à Deux delivers a distinct film among the comic book movie landscape. While there are many aspects to admire, #Joker  2 never finds the right beat.”

It was a huge success, both critically and commercially. It was nominated for 11 Oscars, with Joaquin Phoenix winning Best Actor and Hildur Gudnadottir winning for Original Score. It became the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever. In the sequel, Phoenix reprises his role as Joker, and Lady Gaga joins as Harley Quinn. The supporting cast includes Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Zazie Beetz returns as Sophie from the first film. The sequel is said to be a musical, building on Phoenix's dancing scenes from the original.
