Love Lies Bleeding trailer out: Kristen Stewart stars in a tale of romance and murder

Love Lies Bleeding, starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian, will debut in theatres next year. Ahead of its release, the makers unveiled the trailer of the film on Wednesday, December 20. It featured the two lead actresses deeply in love with each other, which leads them to a bloody chaos. 

Love Lies Bleeding is a lesbian love story

Rose Glass's romance thriller Love Lies Bleeding has a violent and gory trailer that introduces Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian as the stars of an electric love story. In the film, Stewart portrays Lou, a reclusive gym manager who develops a strong romantic interest in O'Brian's Jackie, an aspirational bodybuilder travelling to Las Vegas to pursue her athletic goals.

In the over two-minute trailer Jackie accepts a job at Lou's (Kristen Stewart) father's shooting range. This sets her on a route where she has to choose between extortion, blood, money, and even murder. Jackie has now become entangled in Lou's criminal family's web.

A fast-paced montage of police cars, Jackie posing for a mugshot, and more of the couple making out brings the trailer to a dramatic end. The trailer culminates in a scene featuring Lou and Jackie in a pickup truck with the dead body rolled up in the bed—possibly not quite dead after all. 

Love Lies Bleeding to premiere at Sundance Film Festival 

Love Lies Bleeding, which also stars Dave Franco, Jena Malone, and Anna Baryshnikov, looks to be an electrifying love story of super-ripped proportions. Rose Glass is the director of the film, and she and Weronika Tofilska are co-writers. 

Love Lies Bleeding will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2024. The theatrical release date of the film has not been announced yet.
