Yuva Rajkumar, actor and grandson of the late Sandalwood icon Dr. Rajkumar, has reportedly filed for divorce from Sridevi Byrappa, citing cruelty under Section 13(1)(a) of the Hindu Marriage Act, as reported by Oneindia. The petition was filed in a family court on June 6, taking fans by surprise, especially following the recent divorce announcement of rapper Chandan Shetty and actress Niveditha Gowda.

It has been reported that Sridevi has been living separately for over a year. Her absence was notably felt during the release of Yuva Rajkumar's debut movie, Yuva, in March. Although there were speculations about marital issues at that time, they subsided after the film's release. The next court hearing is scheduled for July 4. Yuva Rajkumar, currently out of the country, has yet to comment on the situation. He is the son of senior actor Raghavendra Rajkumar and has a brother, Vinay, who is also an actor in Sandalwood.

Yuva Rajkumar and Sridevi's relationship

Yuva Rajkumar, whose birth name is Guru, and Sridevi had been friends for over seven years before they married. Initially, their relationship faced opposition from his family but was eventually accepted due to the intervention of the late Puneeth Rajkumar. Their wedding garnered significant attention and was attended by prominent figures in the South Indian film industry, including Mega Star Chiranjeevi.

Yuva first appeared as a child actor in Upendra's blockbuster Om, starring his uncle Shivaraj Kumar. He later worked behind the scenes on Siddhartha (2015) and Run Antony (2016), both starring his brother Vinay, and was credited as a producer for the latter. Additionally, Yuva sang a song in Puneeth Rajkumar's last movie, James.

Sridevi, originally from Mysuru, managed the Civil Service Academy run by Dr. Rajkumar’s family and actively supported Yuva, even promoting his film Run Antony.
