Telugu Superstar Chiranjeevi is reportedly planning for a return to Kannada cinema after a 22-year hiatus. Sources indicate that Chiranjeevi is set to make an extended cameo appearance in Darshan's upcoming film with director Prem which is slated to start production around June 2024.

According to an insider, Prem recently met Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad on December 22, where he presented the script for the new project. Chiranjeevi reportedly responded positively and expressed excitement about the venture. The team now awaits Chiranjeevi's official confirmation before proceeding with the film.
Chiranjeevi's last foray into Kannada cinema was in 1996, appearing in a special role in Ravichandran's movie Sipayi. The film featured the blockbuster hit song Snehakke Sneha.
Prem and Darshan previously collaborated on Kariya which was released in 2023 and was declared successful. Currently, Prem is occupied with the shooting of the pan-India film KD alongside Dhruva Sarja which is expected to be a two-part epic. The upcoming Darshan-Prem project will start rolling in June 2024.

Chiranjeevi meets Telangana CM
On Monday, the Telugu cinema icon paid a visit to the residence of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad. The two exchanged warm greetings during the visit and several pictures of their meeting made their way to social media.
Chiranjeevi for the meeting wore a white shirt paired with blue jeans, while CM Revanth Reddy opted for a white shirt paired with black pants.

On the professional front, Chiranjeevi will next feature in a fantasy entertainer titled Mega 156. This project holds significance as it marks the megastar's return to the fantasy genre after a considerable hiatus. The film will be directed by Vassishta who is known for his directorial debut with Bimbisara. Mega 156 is a grand-scale production backed by V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati, and Vikram Reddy under the banner of UV Creations.
