Yash's portrayal of Rocky Bhai, or Raja Krishnappa Bairya in Prashanth Neel's KGF film franchise, pushed the Kannada film industry under the mainstream arc lights. Himself being an outsider, Yash, having acquired an overwhelming amount of name and fame, has now expressed his support for all those who do not come from filmy legacies but still harbour aspirations of making it big in the industry. Notably, he cited the example of Prashanth Neel, who has off-late delivered two of the biggest pan-India hits in recent times.

Yash advocates in favour of showbiz newcomers

Yash has not forgotten his roots after having made it big in front of the camera. Having become one of the most well-known names from the Kannada film industry, Yash has often used his platform and influence to back new talent. Recently speaking about his KGF director Prashanth Neel, Yash reiterated how nobody had any faith in the former round about the time his first film - Ugramm, released. Yash still came on board for KGF simply because he bought into Prashanth Neel's vision.

He said, "When Prashanth Neel made his first film Ugramm, no one bought the satellite rights. Prashanth himself produced that film, and I know how much he struggled for that. It was bought much later that too via a third party. After that, KGF happened because we believed in his talent and not his previous movie’s box office collection. It’s important to identify the potential in people, encourage and nurture their talent, even if the film doesn't do well."

Yash practices what he preaches

Yash voicing his support for industry outsiders is not a recent development. As a matter of fact, the actor has been providing a platform to fresh talent for a palpable amount of time now. For instance, Yash has worked with 10 directors who were either making their directorial debut or were just a film or two old.

His work with directors Pawan Wadeyar, S Krishna, Guru Deshpande, Dr Suri, Pradeep Raj, Manju Mandavaya, Santhosh Ananddram has resulted in hits and blockbusters over the years like Googly, Gajakesari, Raja Huli, Lucky, Kirathaka, Masterpiece and Mr and Mrs Ramachari. Yash will next be seen in Geetu Mohandas' Toxic, slated to release on April 10, 2025.
