The release of Prashanth Neel's Salaar has brought about a fresh wave of interest in the KGF universe, an overlap of which with the world of Salaar is being anticipated by audience. While producer Vijay Kirgandur had categorically denied any overlap between the two franchises, the release of the film did carry a nod to Yash. Back in 2018, while promoting KGF: Chapter 1, the actor had an interesting take on some of Bollywood's foremost heroes.

When Yash criticised Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor

While Yash was promoting KGF: Chapter 1 back in 2018, an interview with  ETV Bharat Films and TV saw him reveal the names of his favourite actors among whom was Amitabh Bachchan. Yash followed this up with a critique of Ranveer Singh's early work while also appreciating the actor for his then-recent performances in Sanjay Leela Bhansali films. He said, "Ranveer Singh, I never used to like his work initially, but I don’t know now he is looking too good. His film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani, from then I started liking him. And he is stunning in Padmavat, he is just amazing."

Also mentioning Ranbir Kapoor, Yash said while he has always loved Kapoor's work, particularly in Sanju, he does seem to be "detracted" off late. He said, "Ranbir Kapoor, I saw him in Sanju. I saw a lot of his work, he was too good. I don’t know, off late I felt he was a little detracted, but in Sanju he was too good."

Yash gets a nod in Salaar

The beginning of Salaar, carried a slide thanking KGF star Yash. Though the reason behind this dedication is not known for sure, many believe it was because the actor was present for Salaar's muhuratam shot.

The nod, however, in no way indicates a possible overlap between the Salaar and KGF universes in the succeeding installments of the franchises.
