BLACKPINK's Lisa is now facing allegations of copying from group XG after netizens found few similarities in songs from her latest released album Alter Ego.

BLACKPINK's youngest member Lisa made history by becoming the first K-pop artist to perform at 97th Academy Awards. However, amid this achievement, the artist is facing allegations of copying her songs from the girl group XG.

Netizens express disappointment over Lisa copying song from ‘junior group’ XG

Lisa who is jam-packed with schedule after the release of her latest album Alter Ego. The k-pop  artist is now being accused of copying a song F*** Up The World, which is from popular girl group XG. Eagle-syed netizens netizens took no time to see the similarities between the songs and expressed displeasure. One user wrote, “Lisa can never be original….this song and mv is copied.….from SONG OF THE YEAR”.

Another user wrote, “Shameless #Lisa copied STYLE, CONCEPT, CHROME EFFECT for her new single. Does this Thai lady/boy has anything original?”. Many have even pointed out Lisa’s outfits bearing a striking resemblance to a stage costume worn by XG’s Jurin.

For the unversed, XG is composed of seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey. They made their debut on March 18, 2022, with the release of the digital single Tippy Toes.This is not the first time the Thai rapper is facing allegations for copying. She was earlier accused of copying a shot for Travis Scott’s music video for song Rockstar.

Lisa’s previous allegations of plagiarism

The cinematographer behind Travis Scott’s FE!N music video had accused Lisa of plagiarism. Moses had posted a frame of song Rockstar music video alongside a shot from FE!N on his Instagram story and accused the k-pop idol of copying his work and demanding his due credits by the end of the month. This sparked mixed reactions from the netizens.

For the unversed, Rockstar is a song which was released on June 27, 2024 as the lead single from her debut studio album Alter Ego (2025). The song was written by Lisa,  Brittany Amaradio, James Essien, Lucy Healey, Ryan Tedder and Sam Homaee. The music video was directed by Henry Schofield and choreographed by Sean Bankhead. It was filmed in Bangkok as an homage to Lisa’s native Thailand.
