BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, is currently serving his mandatory military duty. A new video circulating on social media captures him introducing himself and greeting a senior artist. In the clip, V is seen bowing and introducing himself to Big Mama's singer, Lee Ji-young, who initially doesn't recognise him in his military uniform.

After a brief conversation, V continues with his duties. Fans quickly responded to the video with various comments. One fan humorously noted, "The uniform is uniforming bro (sic)," while another provided context, explaining, "Taehyung greeted Lee Ji-young, a famous Korean singer from Big Mama, while she was performing at a military event in Chuncheon (sic)." Another admirer shared, "My heart skipped a beat."

V’s military enlistment

After BTS members Jin, J-hope, and SUGA enlisted in late 2022 and the first half of 2023, the rest of the members also announced their enlistment plans in the same year. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook begun the process of enlisting in the South Korean army in November 2023.  They will serve their country for the next 18 months.

After much speculation about the group's future, Bighit Music announced that the four youngest members of the group began the process of enlisting in the military at the same time. The group has been on a hiatus since June 2022 with the members carrying on individual activities until their reunion, which is expected in 2025. In the meantime, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have all released their solo albums.

The band's eldest member, Kim Seokjin, known as Jin, is set to be the first to complete his military service, with his return scheduled for June 12.
