With You, Like Crazy some of other Jimin songs to achieve this feat

Jimin’s latest single titled Closer Than This achieved the top ranking on iTunes charts in more than 100 regions across the globe, including countries like Germany, Brazil, France, Japan, US, UK among others.  Previously, Jimin had more than 100 number one rankings for his songs like Filter, With You, VIBE, Set Me Free Pt. 2, Like Crazy, and Angel Pt. 1.

The resounding success of Closer Than This is a particularly astonishing accomplishment because it had competition against famous Christmas hits at this time of the season, like Mariah Carey’s iconic All I Want from Christmas Is You and George Michael’s Last Christmas.

BTS had announced their formal break in June 2022

And as expected, countless fans of BTS and Jimin flooded the social media with their congratulatory messages for their favourite K-pop idol. One fan posted on X, formerly Twitter, “Closer Than This is such a beautiful song.” Another fan commented, “The way he is on top in western charts surpassing western artists is a craziness jimin is the best.”

BTS has been on a break since last year. On June 14, 2022, the group had formally announced a scheduled pause to enable all the group members to pursue their 18 months of mandatory military service. Jin, the oldest member, enlisted on December 13, 2022, followed by J-Hope on April 18, 2023, and Suga on September 22, 2023.
