BTS V reveals why he renewed his contract with BigHit Music in 2018

BTS Monuments: Beyond the Stars is a documentary series that provides a glimpse into the lives of the seven BTS members. Recently, the makers released two new episodes from the series, providing an insight into the musical journey of J-Hope, Jin, Suga, Jungkook, RM, V, Jimin, and Suga. In the latest episode, Kim Taehyung aka BTS V opened up about his decision to renew the contract.

Why did re-sign his contract with HYBE in 2018?

In the latest episode, V candidly discusses the group's hiatus and his decision to renew the contract. However, it was Suga who initially unveiled glimpses of the break, revealing a period of introspection and personal growth. "From 2018 into 2019, that’s when I finally started to understand what position we were in," shares Suga, reflecting on this transformative period. He expressed rediscovering joy in the music-making process during the break.

Suga's revelations were complemented by V's sentiments on the band's closeness and support during challenging times. V emphasised the significance of the members bonding as a family, navigating through moments of laughter and sorrow together.

He said, "I really want our members to smile and be happy. Regardless of the relationship with the agency, I signed my contract to see them smile, even if it's just for a moment, especially since they are all feeling sad right now."

BTS V releases new music

BTS member V joined forces with American singer UMI for a soul-stirring collaboration titled Wherever U R. The song, dropped on Kim Taehyung’s 28th birthday, has quickly garenered attention from the audiences worldwide with its tender yet powerful melody. The video was released on December 30.
