The K-pop idol G-Dragon was acquitted of all drug-related charges on Saturday. The police dropped charges against the rapper after recent tests cleared him of any suspected drug usage, marking a significant reversal in the legal battle involving the BIGBANG member. Additionally, no further testing will be taking place for G-Dragon.

G-Dragon’s additional testing ruled out

G-Dragon has previously shown negative results from extensive drug testing, which included checks on his hair, nails, and toenails. In response, the police asked the National Forensic Service to conduct a follow-up inquiry to confirm if the rapper had recently bleached or colored his hair.

This request was made because there were concerns that G-Dragon may have abused the fact that bleached or colored hair reduces the precision of drug tests. After the tests were cleared by him, the National Forensic Service came to the conclusion that BIGBANG member had not dyed his hair, as reported by JTBC

Additionally, the authorities have formally dropped their accusations against the Bang Bang Bang singer.

What is the drug scandal about?

On October 27, reports emerged that South Korean celebrities, BIGBANG member G-Dragon and acclaimed actor Lee Sun Kyun, have been prohibited from leaving South Korea due to their involvement in separate drug investigations.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's drug crime investigation team, with approval from the Ministry of Justice, imposed travel bans on both individuals. Notably, these cases were unrelated and were being investigated separately.

Notably, G-Dragon faced prior controversy in 2011 for cannabis consumption in Japan, with his case being suspended due to his first-time offender status and low consumption levels.
