NCT Controversy: Taeil Removed From Group Over Sex Crimes, Agency Confirms

NCT Taeil’s Controversy: Popular K-pop boy group NCT is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Member Taeil from the group is facing serious allegations of sexual crimes, which has led to uproar among fans and netizens.

NCT’s Taeil removed from the group over controversy

Following the allegations of Taeil being involved in unspecified sex crimes, NCT’s agency SM Entertainment made an official announcement that the singer has been removed from the group. In a post shared on X, the statement read, “This is SM Entertainment. We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sex crimes."

The statement further read, “While looking into the situation, we recognized that the issue is very serious, and we have decided that Taeil could no longer continue team activities. We have discussed this matter with Taeil and it has been decided he will be removed from the group. Currently, Taeil is faithfully cooperating with the police investigation. We will share additional statements as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by the artist. SM Entertainment.”

Fans have been angered by this revelation and demanded Taeil should be punished. Some linked him to the Burning Sun Scandal. One user wrote, “Is this real, kinda similar to Burning Sun Scandal?” Another user wrote , “I don't want to say it, but you're so ugly taeil. already not appreciate the fans, bad behavior, everything is bad. you're crazy, your behavior exceeds the devil”.

The Burning Sun Scandal happened in 2019. It was dubbed as an entertainment and sex scandal and involved several celebrities idols of popular K-pop groups, and police officials. Former Big Bang member Seungri, Choi Jong-soon and singer Jung Joon-Young were some of the prominent figures from the K-pop industry who were involved.
