Malayalam and Tamil actor Bala who was out on bail in connection with a case booked under the Juvenile Justice Act, left everyone surprised as he arrived at the Kaloor Pavakulam Temple in Kerala with his fiancée on October 23. The Tamil star married for the fourth time, this time to his Chennai-based relative, Kokila, in a private ceremony. This comes amidst controversy surrounding his previous marriage. Bala’s path to this wedding has been complex, with little known about his former wives and the reasons for their separations.

Chandana Sadasiva

He was reportedly first married to Chandana Sadasiva. However, there is very little information about the actor's first wife. As per Onmanorama, in September 2024, a social media post by a user named Hima Nived Krishna revealed some things about the actor's first marriage. Hima shared documents believed to be from 2008, showing Bala's marriage to Chandana, who was from Karnataka. She also claimed that Chandana suffered abuse during the marriage, which eventually led to their divorce.

Amrutha Suresh

His second marriage was with the singer Amrutha Suresh in 2010. She is a popular singer in TV shows and is known for songs like Ayyappa, Kaatril Oru Mogam, Adugulo Adugunai, and Maturma. The couple was also blessed with a daughter, Avantika. Their marriage turned sour and since 2015, the two have been fighting even in the public. They got divorced in 2019. Even though Bala and Amrutha Suresh have separated, things flared up between them in the past few weeks with heated exchanges.

This started when their daughter posted a video online, accusing Bala of tormenting her. Bala denied the claims, expressing on social media that it was "the most painful experience" of his life and that he would not engage in arguments, as "a father who argues with his daughter is not a man."

In October 2024, Bala’s ex-wife Amrutha Suresh filed a complaint against him on the grounds of harassment to her, for which he got arrested. Amrutha also made allegations that his actions had caused trauma to their daughter Avantika.

Dr Elizabeth Udayan

After his divorce from Amrutha, he married Dr. Elizabeth Udayan in 2021. Dr. Elizabeth is a surgeon and they reportedly met when Bala consulted her for surgery, possibly during his liver transplant a few years ago. In 2023, the couple had begun living apart as revealed by Bala in an interview.
