Vettaiyan OTT Release: Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan 's Tamil movie was released in theatres on October 10 and dubbed in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. With a successful opening, the action crime drama earned over ₹100 crore within its first four days. However, it has since faced difficulties in maintaining box office numbers, with a total net collection of ₹136.45 crore. The movie is now set for its digital debut and will be available on an OTT platform less than a month after its theatrical release.
Vettaiyan to stream on Amazon Prime Video
Prime Video has secured the digital rights to the Tamil film featuring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan . The streaming platform purchased the OTT rights for ₹90 crore. Following its theatrical release this month, the film is set to debut on digital platforms in November, shortly after Diwali . According to recent reports, Vettaiyan will debut on Prime Video on November 7, 2024, allowing viewers to enjoy the film from the comfort of their homes.
This action crime drama focuses on a government school teacher who uncovers a drug trade near her workplace. A police officer, known for his unconventional investigative methods, takes charge of the case. He later discovers multiple crimes linked to the drug trade. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan , Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, and Rana Daggubati in key roles. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film had a substantial budget of ₹300 crore, but its current box office performance suggests it may struggle to recoup that investment.
Rajinikanth celebrates Vettaiyan success
An industry tracker shared a photo of Rajini posing with Anirudh, director TJ Gnanavel and the rest of the team.
