Fardeen Khan made a blockbuster comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi. The actor has been receiving rave reviews for his portrayal of Nawab Wali in the series. Now, taking to his social media handle, Fardeen opened up about his experience working with the director.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Fardeen shared a video clip from the web series and recalled that the first scene he shot for the series was a “memorable and exhilarating” experience for him. He added that the set was like a “visual masterpiece” with intricate designs, elaborate costumes and a palpable sense of history and drama. According to Fardeen, Sanjay Leela Bhansali creates an atmosphere that is both intense and inspiring.

“As I stepped onto the set, I felt a great mix of excitement and nervousness. SLB’s reputation for demanding excellence pushes you to deliver your best. His guidance is both precise and passionate, encouraging you to delve deep into your character and bring out the nuances that make his films and scenes so compelling,” he continued.

Fardeen further elaborated on his experience and called it “enriching learning” as Bhansali shared his vision and helped him navigate the emotional depths of the scene. “By the end of the shoot you would feel a profound sense of accomplishment, knowing you had contributed to something truly special under the direction of a cinematic maestro,” he concluded.

Fardeen Khan reflects on his return to acting after a sizeable hiatus

The actor particularly emphasized the professional and creative value of being a part of a Bhansali project. He said, "To get an endorsement from Sanjay Leela Bhansali after, in my case, a gap of so long. It is an actor’s dream...Just to have the privilege and the opportunity to collaborate under a master craftsman was amazing."

That being said, he shared how his comeback, is essentially spread across two projects - Heeramandi and an untitled Sanjay Gupta project. Fardeen also shared how it was Gupta who first approached him. He added, "The first person to sign me when I did come back was Sanjay Gupta. I worked with two Sanjays. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar was the second project that I shot for, but it just so happened that it is going to be my first release."
