Zeenat Aman has been the talk of social media ever since she made her Instagram debut. The legendary actress is capturing all the attention for the right reasons, whether it's through her audacious remarks, motivational historical tales, or her effortlessly stunning style.
Zeenat, poised for a comeback, was announced to be a part of Manish Harishankar's web series, Showstopper in 2022. However, even after 2 years, there has been no update about the upcoming series. Now, recent reports suggest that the production of Showstopper has been halted due to the director’s financial woes.
As per Free Press Journal, after two years of announcement, none of the investors had received their money back. The show is still in the production stage and has not yet been selected for release by any over-the-top platform. The portal l was informed by a source that Harishankar has not filed taxes, which has led to speculations about his financial dealings.
The insider said, “The show's production is now in jeopardy as it has been over two years and it shows no sign of release. Harishankar also failed to file taxes and put other people in the spot too... He has not paid daily wage workers, including hair and makeup artists, stylists, etc. for over a year. This neglect has left many workers struggling financially."
As Showstopper's future seems to be in the dark, fans can expect Zeenat’s on-screen comeback in Faraz Arif Ansari’s Bun Tikki. The actress will be seen sharing screen space with Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol in the movie. It will mark Manish Malhotra's debut venture as a producer.
The film will be produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra, and Marijke Desouza under Manish Malhotra's Stage 5 Production. Earlier, the designer had shared a poster of the film which was a painting of a child playing with his father. It hinted that the film is centred around a filial bond between father and son. This film marks Zeenat and Shabana’s third collaboration after Ishk Ishk Ishk (1974) and Ashanti (1982).
