Canada-based Indian singer and rapper Shubhneet Singh aka Shubh was set to embark on his maiden India tour across 9 cities from September 23 to November 5. However, days before his first show in Mumbai, BookMyShow cancelled ticket sales after facing a boycott call on social media for hosting a singer who is allegedly a Khalistani sympathiser.

After Shubh's show was cancelled, rapper-singer AP Dhillion came out in his support. Now, late rapper Sidhu Moosewala's team shared a note on the late rapper's social media handle, backing Shubh as he faces the heat.

The note detailed the trials of being a minority in India tied with the responsiblities of being a public figure attempting to stand up for their community and be a role model. Not just this, the note also stated how music at its core is above divisive social labels. The strongly-worded note ended by calling out media channels for "exaggerating isolated incidents to an alarming degree".

Excerpts from the story upload read, "Sidhu consistently advocated for his people, only to be unjustly labelled a terrorist without substantiated evidence. Regrettably, a similar fate has befallen Shubh...It raises the question of why artists hailing for minority communities seem to consistently face such adversity, either through persecution or silencing. Music transcends caste and religion. We lost Sidhu due to this prevailing hatred. When will this end?"
AP Dhillon extends indirect support to Shubh
Before Sidhu Moosewala's team extended support to Shubh, rapper AP Dhillon had shared a cryptic yet extensive note, which seemingly backed the Canada-based Indian rapper now ensnared in controversy. AP Dhillon's note detailed how artists and their art have been negatively impacted owing to the fact that special interest and political groups, using their public image and appeal as "chess pieces" for a larger agenda.
