Sivakarthikeyan’s Ayalaan joins Sankranthi 2024 race with Prabhas, Mahesh Babu's films

Sivakarthikeyan's long awaited sci-fi comedy Ayalaan is slated to release on 2024 Pongal/Sankranti alongside Guntur Kaaram, Ravi Teja's Eagle and others.

Sivakarthikeyan has been working in the Tamil film industry for years now and has emerged as one of the successful stars. Recently, he appeared in the fantasy-superhero Tamil film Maaveeran. The 2023 film received both rave reviews and commercial success, making Rs 89 crore over its Rs 35 crore budget. Next, he is going to appear in the highly anticipated film Ayalaan alongside Rakul Preet Singh, and the release date for the same has been announced.

Ayalaan set for Pongal/Sankranthi 2024 release

The announcement of Sivakarthikeyan film's release date was made by KJR Studios. They wrote in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that it’ll be a "extraterrestrial treat", in the 2024 Pongal/Sankrantih. They also wrote that so that Ayalaan could reach its full potential for a "remarkable viewing experience", the makers would want extra time for the film. However, they wrote that they are confident that Ayalaan is going to be worth the wait. 

“We look forward to welcoming our visitor this Pongal/Sankranti,” read the post. Moreover, a new poster for the film was released as well. See the post below.

Ayalaan to clash with Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna films

Ayalaan is set to go against some big films with its Pongal/Sankranti release. The Sankranti 2024 race had so far included Mahesh Babu’s long-awaited Guntur Kaaram, Nagarjuna’s next film Naa Saami Ranga, Ravi Teja’s next project after Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle and Vijay Deverakonda’s next film after Kushi, Parasuram.

Moreover, Prashanth Varma’s mytho-superhero film Hanu-Man will also be released on the occasion. Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD, which boasts a massive budget and strong. It remains to be seen which film out of these might be close to winning, but it definitely signifies a prominent rise for Sivakarthikeyan.
