Stranger Things is now heading to Broadway. What's more? The hit storyline will be getting its prequel through the stage show. The makers of the same recently announced the ensemble cast, who will be featured in the production.

  • The show will officially conclude with season 5 which will reportedly be made available for streaming in 2024.
  • The filming for the final season, however, stands halted due to the dual strikes going on in Hollywood.

Stranger Things' stage show gets its ensemble cast


The Stranger Things stage show which will serve as a prequel to the much-loved story line has been officially titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The ensemble cast features Shane Attwooll as Chief Hopper, Isabella Pappas as Joyce, Chris Buckley as Bob Newby, Oscar Lloyd as Hopper Jr, Louis McCartney as Henry Creel, Patrick Vaill as Dr Brenner and Max Harwood as Allen Munson.


The show will begin previews on November 17 at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End. The opening date for the production is set for December 14. The rehearsals for the same are currently underway.

The Stranger Things stage production is a first for Netflix

The streaming platform giant announced the stage production back in July of 2022. This is a first for Netflix as it experiments with a live show. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is being presented in association with Sonia Friedman productions. Stranger Things creators - the Duffer Brothers, are serving as creative producers for the stage show. The timeline for the plot will tell the story of Hawkins in 1959 featuring younger versions of some of the show's much-appreciated older characters.
